What is Pilates?
Pilates is a movement based practice that is designed to strengthen, align, lengthen and tone the body. Pilates works the body with slow, controlled movements and breath to tone the body. We combine contemporary cardio elements with classical Pilates movements to get a full body workout!
What class do I start with?
We have a variety of classes to suit everyone. We recommend starting with an Align class if you are new to Salt Pilates. This is our beginner class working at a slower pace.
How do I book a class?
We use the MINDBODY online booking system. The easiest way to book your classes on the go is to download our FREE Salt Pilates Studio app from your app store. Once you’re logged in you can make purchases, book, waitlist, reschedule or cancel your classes as well as view your account details, schedule and history.
What do I need to know for my first class?
Please arrive 10 minutes early to your first class. The instructor will give you a tour of the studio, help you get to know the reformer bed and answer any questions that you may have.
What do I wear to class?
Something comfortable. We recommend gym or yoga clothes. Although most clients prefer to train barefoot, grip socks are more than welcome.
How many people are in each class?
With a maximum of 8 clients per class, our small group sessions allow our trainers to focus and assist each individual.
What if my class is cancelled?
We require a minimum of 2 people to run a class. Classes can be cancelled up to 3 hours prior to class. You will be notified via text or email if your class is cancelled.
- Cancelations need to be made more than 9 hours prior to your class beginning to avoid forfeiting your session. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, however as there are limited spaces available, we need to enforce fair and consistent standards. Cancelling a session will allow waitlisted clients to take your place in the class.
- Packages: If you cancel after the 9 hour deadline, you will forfeit your class
- Unlimited Membership: If you hold an unlimited membership option, a $5 late cancellation fee will be automatically deducted from your nominated account.
- No shows: Unlimited memberships will be automatically deducted $10 from your nominated account.
I am pregnant, can I attend classes?
You can attend classes up until 16 weeks. We offer pre and post natal classes. We also offer mums and bubs classes where you can bring your baby along to class whilst you workout!
Can I still do Pilates if I have an injury?
It will depend on your injury and your road to recovery. We may ask for a medical certificate from your specialist. Group classes involve a full body workout, so in some instances this can be quite challenging for both the injured client and the trainer.
What facilities do you offer?
We provide complimentary towels, drinking water, and have a small changing facility in the studio. We do not offer showering facilities.
